Apple Releases iOS 10.3.1 With Bug Fixes and Security Improvements

Apple, on Monday, released a minor iOS 10.3.1 software update for the compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. The update bears a build number 14E304 and is recommended for anyone who has updated to iOS 10.3.

According to the official release notes, the iOS 10.3.1 is a minor update meant to bring and fix numerous bugs stability and improve the overall security of the iOS devices. Other than the bug fixes and performance improvements, the iSO 10.3.1 brings back support for the 32-bit iOS devices including iPhone, 5, iPhone 5c, iPad 4, and the iPad 6G. Available for: iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later

Impact: An attacker within range may be able to execute arbitrary code on the Wi-Fi chip

Description: A stack buffer overflow was addressed through improved input validation.

Digger further deep into the security release notes, the fruit company acknowledges that iOS 10.3.1 patches the bug that could allow an attacker within range to execute malicious code on your device’s Wi-Fi chip.

You can easily install iOS 10.3.1 software update through Over-the-Air update feature. To do that, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update. You can also download the full-sized iOS 10.3.1 IPSW file and install iOS 10.3.1 using iTunes. This way you can also clean install your mobile’s operating system.
