iOS-8

Good news, Apple has released iOS 8.1.2 for download, available over the air on your device or via iTunes. The minor update says it fixes bugs and addresses an issue with ringtone purchases not being restored on your device. Users are told to visit iTunes.com/restore-tones to get their jingles back.

iOS 8.1.2 is compatible with the following devices:

  • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S
  • iPad Air iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2
  • Retina iPad mini, iPad mini 1
  • iPod touch 5

How to update to iOS 8.1.2

There are a few ways you can update to iOS 8 but make sure before updating that you take a backup just incase things go wrong, although it is a very high chance they wont.

  • OTA: OTA or Over The Air is by far the easiest one out of all the ways to update to iOS 8. This way you can simply download iOS 8.1 directly on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Simply head over to Settings > General > Software Update, and there iOS 8.1 will appear. Simply download on “Download and Install” button.
  • iTunes: You can also download iOS 8 through iTunes, but you must have iTunes 12.0.1 as it is the only one compatible with the latest version. Do download iOS 8 through iTunes, connect your iOS device and it will show a new version is available. Click on download and install and you are good to go.
