Apple introduced the Breadcrumbs features in iOS 9 which allows you To go back to the Application you’re using. The Breadcrumbs are available in the Status Bar and you can return to the App you were or you’re redirected from.
Although this feature is quite useful And comes in handy most of the instances, but people aren’t very fond of the text of the Status Bar. To remove this text, then you need to try out a new jailbreak tweak known as Croutons. Croutons is a brand new jailbreak tweak which eliminates the text of Breadcrumbs in the Status Bar and replaces it with the icon of the App. Due to the text of Breadcrumbs, the Status Bar looks very busy especially when the title of the app is long. Croutons removes the text and goes with a simpler technique, showing a tiny icon of the app.
For Case in point: If you’ve been redirected from the App Store to the Safari then instead of the Safari text composed, it will show the icon of the Safari App and also makes the Status Bar look a bit cleaner.
The tweak also has a custom icon for the Spotlight Search as you can see in the first Screenshot below.
The Tweak is certainly one of the tweaks which makes the iOS looks a bit cleaner. It’s surprising to realize that Apple has not done something like this to make iOS look a bit cleaner.
The tweak has a preferences Pane available from the Settings App from where it is possible to configure the options of this tweak. It has only one option available and that’s to enable or disable the tweak and after that, you are able to tap on Apply Settings.
If you are interested in trying out this jailbreak tweak then it’s possible to download and set up Croutons out of Cydia’s BigBoss Repo to get free. It is compatible with iOS 9 and iOS 10 Jailbroken apparatus.
