With all the talk regarding the iPhone 8, we’re yet to hear about the upcoming iOS version. The 10th year iPhone is set to debut with iOS 11, so it’s only fair that we get a brief idea of where Apple is headed. A fresh concept gives us a very good idea of what Apple might do with its new OS and the lock screen in particular.
A new concept posted by Birchtree talks about a dynamic new lock screen UI, where more control is given to the users. The concept discusses the possibility of adding a small widget for weather right under the carrier marker. It is possible that Apple will allow third-party apps to display weather data within this space as well.
This makes a lot of sense and will reduce clutter on the lock screen. Using 3D Touch, each individual message can be seen and replied to, thus offering deeper control to the users right within the lock screen. Interestingly, the concept also discusses a location marker for messages.

Interestingly, the concept also discusses a location marker for messages. This could be an optional feature or something that could be enabled for your Find My Friends contacts.
Something called “Smart Notifications” is also being touted by this concept. Data will be sent to you based on your current location, and you can even opt to receive transit details via Apple Maps.
The concept floats the idea of adding some of your most used apps right within the lock screen. With Apple rumored to embed the fingerprint scanner right under the display panel, an idea like this doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
Apple will supposedly unveil iOS 11 in about three months at WWDC. We have not really heard much about what new features Apple’s next-generation mobile operating system will have.
Based on current rumours, we suspect that iOS 11 will bring Dark Mode, enhanced Siri support, group FaceTime chat functionality and a few other minor tweaks.
