Apple iDevice August 4, 2014


Apple has just release the iOS 8 beta 5 build number as 12A4345d to registered developers and it is now available for download through the dev center. The pre-release version has been released for all devices that run iOS 7 except iPhone 4, which has been dropped from the list of compatible devices this year. For non-developers, you can check tutorial update iOS 8 beta without registering UDID.

iOS 8 beta 5 is compatible with the following devices:

  • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S
  • iPad Air iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2
  • Retina iPad mini, iPad mini 1
  • iPod touch 5

What’s new in iOS 8 beta 5:

  • Spirometry data types are now available in HealthKit,” according to the iOS 8 beta 5 release notes.
  • “T-Mobile Wi-Fi” carrier name
  • iCloud has a new set of icons in the Settings app.
  • New icons for iCloud, iCloud Family Sharing, iCloud Drive, Backup, and Keychain
  • New sound after a voice message is sent in Messages
  • The iPhone will now prompt you to allow other devices to access SMS messages
  • Continuity SMS sync now called SMS Relay, can be enabled/disabled
  • Health app updated with new icons for Body data, Data Exporting, and new option for showing Medical ID on Emergency Lock screen.
  • New options for iCloud Photo Storage
  • Swipe down access for Spotlight is much quicker
