How to Jailbreak iOS 9.3.3 on Mac or Windows using PanGu and Cydia Impactor

Good news, the Pangu Team surprised released a jailbreak of iOS 9.3.3 english version for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This release is different from the Chinese language tool released by PanGu, as it is an IPA based jailbreak that has to be used with the Cydia Impactor tool. In this post we will show you how to jailbreak iOS 9.2 or iOS 9.3.3 using the new English PanGu tool with Cydia Impactor. The guide is same for all desktop platforms including OS X, Windows and Linux.

With the latest update, the Paungu jailbreak tool now works with all devices with the 64-bit processor which includes the following devices:

  • iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus
  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3, iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 1, iPad Air 2
  • iPod 6th Generation

Jailbreak iOS 9.3.3 Using Pangu and Cydia Impactor

Step 1. First up, you need to head over Pangu Downloads page. Then, you have to download the Pangu jailbreak .iPA file and Cydia Impactor tool for Windows, Mac or Linux.

Step 2. You will have to connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to your computer using a USB cable. On your computer, you need to open Cydia Impactor software.

Step 3. Now, locate the .iPA file of Pangu jailbreak (NvwaStone_1.0.ipa) you have just downloaded and drag and drop it on Cydia Impactor.

Step 4. If an Apple Developer warning appears, click Ok.

Step 5. If prompted, you have to enter your Apple ID that will be used to create a free Apple developer certificate for signing the .iPA file of Pangu jailbreak. (I would recommend you to create a dummy Apple ID and use it instead.) Once you have entered your Apple ID password, you need to click on OK.

Step 6. Now, Cydia Impactor will begin to install the Pangu jailbreak app on your device. If you receive a keychain message during the process, make sure to click on the Allow button.

Step 7. After the jailbreak app has been installed on your device. Go the Home screen of your phone. You will see Pangu jailbreak app live, then it means that it has been installed successfully.

Step 8. Now open Settings > General > Device Management and tap on the developer profile. From the developer profile page tap on the ‘Trust’ button and then hit the ‘Trust’ button from the popup once again.

Step 9. Return to the Home screen and open the Pangu app. A notifications popup will appear.  You need to accept it by tapping on the Ok button. Then, tap on the Start button and lock your device.

Step 10. Pangu will now start the jailbreak process. After it’s completed, your device will respring automatically. Keep your device locked at all times until the jailbreak is finished and your device is restarted.

Step 11. Once the process gets completed successful, you will see Cydia on the screen.

The Pangu jailbreak is yet semi-tethered, that is you’ll have to use the PP/Pangu jailbreak app on your device homescreen to re-jailbreak it everytime it reboots. The iOS 9.2-9.3.3 jailbreak is done with the same process as in chinese version. You’ll need to provide your Apple ID so that a free certificate will be created to sign the jailbreak .iPA file to be installed onto your device.

Unfortunately, the certificate will expire in 7 days. If your certificate gets expired, you need to follow the guide to install the jailbreak IPA again. If you have enrolled the Apple developer membership, signing the IPA file with your own developer certification is a better choice (i.e., Pangu jailbreak app will get expired in 1 year, rather than 7 days).
